NIMDA

NIMDA is the UK bass-music project of Barney Warner, based in the UK and centered on dubstep, tearout and related heavy bass styles. Rooted in a hardcore-band background and a lifelong obsession with extremity in sound, the project pushes dubstep toward distortion, aggression and chaos. Warner is also a producer and live act known for dark, high-impact sets.

The project grew out of breakdowns and blastbeats, linking NIMDA’s sound to hardcore and metal as well as tearout. In a 2023 Authority Magazine feature, Warner said he had spent the previous decade making tearout dubstep and drum & bass. NIMDA is also associated with contemporary heavy bass peers such as yvm3 and Marauda.

NIMDA and Bassplasma released “Heresy” on Interval Audio in 2017. “Altered” arrived in 2019, and the 2023 single “Kicking Off” came out on Mentis Audio. The 2025–2026 singles run includes “Midnight,” “DEED XF DESCENT,” “COBHAM,” “DIV KILLER,” “SWALLOW THE SOIL,” and “REMAIN VIGILANT (feat. Revelations).” HATRED REIGNS I followed in 2026, including “BARREL MEET HEAD (feat. yvm3).” NIMDA has also released tracks on label compilations and other bass labels.

NIMDA has also maintained an active live profile, with festival and touring dates in the US and Europe. A recorded Lost Lands debut set added to that visibility, and recent activity has centered on new release rollouts. He has collaborated in scenes alongside yvm3, Bassplasma, Svdden Death and Peeling Flesh.
