Modal Nodes

Modal Nodes is a masked bass-music duo rooted in dubstep and riddim, with a sound shaped by clean design, creative percussion, atmospheric space and deliberate structure. Their visual identity stays intentionally low-profile, with the music placed front and center.

By mid-2026, Modal Nodes had begun drawing attention in the bass scene. In a June 2026 Magnetic Magazine interview, the duo said their momentum was building quickly while their visual system stayed tightly controlled, and they noted that all of their material is made within Reason Rack. In that interview, they framed their work around direction and progression rather than speed alone. In a separate River Beats feature, the duo said that on their home planet, Modal Nodes began as an abstract concept and was never meant to be serious at first.

Their release run includes the Alone EP on INFEKT’s Port Zero imprint in 2026, followed by the collaboration “INFECTED” with INFEKT. The later single pair Destiny / Jawa Dub and the September 2026 single In The Stars / Delete Him also arrived in 2026. Their catalog includes “Unnatural,” “Defeat,” “Planet Droid (Modal Nodes Remix),” “Clones,” “Disintegrate” and “In The Stars.”

Festival support has followed the releases, with coverage linking the duo to Rampage in Belgium, Northern Invasion in Montreal and a booking at Lost Lands. EDM.com reported that Subtronics had played “Unnatural” in sets and named Modal Nodes as an artist to watch during Coachella weekend. Mint Talent Group described the duo as having made waves through Port Zero releases and major festival bookings, and Insomniac identified them as a bass act with an upcoming event slot.
